Ice hockey is a sports related to a high risk of injury. On behalf of the Swiss Council for Accident Prevention (bfu) we investigate the biomechanical loading of a player when impacting a dasher board. Different dasher board designs are tested whereas new designs (so-called flexible boards) are of particular interest. Various products are tested using an impact pendulum as well as crash test dummies.
